One of the best purchases I made was my fashion sketch book. I have had endless hours of fun drawing whatever comes to mind. My favourite sketches are my most recent ones, the Haute Couture sketches. I will continually publish them as I do one. Here is the first one that is ready to be published, I hope you like them, please give feedback if you have a moment and share with friends! :)
This is the first outfit. I designed a small hat hair piece with a small veil and dyed black pheasant feathers. The top of my gold baroque print dress is also pictured, with cabochon cut polished stones around the halter and across the top of the dress. I designed the baroque pattern myself.
This is the complete dress. The baroque pattern continues all around the bottom of the skirt. I also designed a belt that consists of several belts stitched together. The tights I designed are also visible, a more in depth description below.
The final image of this outfit is of the tights and boots I designed. The tights have stitching made to look like old fashioned handwriting all over. The boots are quite simple, just laced up at the back.
This is my second outfit. For the headwear I have designed a quirky wired gauze hair piece. The bow is shaped out of wired gauze and is attached to a plastic circle also covered in gauze. I then designed a set of earrings that include a gold stud in one ear, then in the other a monocle attached by a chain to another gold stud. Then the necklace is a silver metal flower (sorry it's not that clear) on a gold chain that fits like a choker.
This dress is designed to flow like liquid. There are no other details on it so the attention is on how it flows. It would be made from black satin most likely. The arm cuff is a cuff on the upper arm and the wrist with two chains connecting the two, one on each side so one isn't pictured.
The final picture of this outfit is the shoes. They are high heels with straps attached by chains. The heels consist of four metal rods attached to a circular base. (Please excuse the white bars at top and bottom, they appeared when I had to rotate the picture and I don't know how to remove them)
This is the third design. For the head I just designed a pair of earrings, they are dangly earrings with strips of black and grey material on them.
For the outfit, the top is just a half length sleeved black scoop neck top made from a mix of cotton and lycra. The skirt is just a simple grey cotton but with a grey, wide faux leather waistband and plastic gold-coated chains. My favourite part of the outfit is the beetle bracelet. The body is made from a lightweight pebble shaped metal encrusted with blue cut glass gems and the head is a smaller pebble shape encrusted with two larger red cut glass gems for eyes. The legs wrap around the wrist to form the bracelet but don't join up, and the legs would be bendable but strong for adjusting the size.
If I were to create a fashion line, my steam punk tights would be a key icon of the brand. These tights have a barbed wire pattern. The shoes are black velvet heels but instead of your usual heel, they are supported by lightweight metal keys.
Inspirational album:
The songs on this album inspire me to design in a Haute Couture style with the dark feel to them.
